Lucknow DM says efforts for Khelo India University Games going on at a war footing

Lucknow: In view of organizing the Khelo India University Games 2023, District Magistrate  Surya Pal Gangwar inspected the ongoing preparations at BBD University, Chinhat. The inspection was started by the District Magistrate. It was told by the District Magistrate that on May 25, 2023, the Khelo India University Games would be started from here itself. In the opening ceremony of Khelo India University Games, Prime Minister of India  Narendra Modi will participate virtually and the Khelo India University Games will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath  at the venue.

It was told by the District Magistrate that on May 25 the grand and historically Khelo India University Games will be started. For which all the preparations are going on on a war footing. A grand stage is being constructed for the opening ceremony. He told that all the nodal officers are closely monitoring the preparations every day. After the inspection of the Inaugural Area, the District Magistrate also inspected the CM Lounge. During the inspection, the District Magistrate instructed to ensure the provision of lease line of BSNL and Airtel for high speed internet at the program venue so that there is no inconvenience in the internet facility.

During the inspection, it came to notice that high breakers have been made at many places in the campus of the University, for which instructions were given to ensure that unnecessary breakers are removed and breakers are constructed as per the standard.

Along with the above, instructions were given to the Municipal Corporation to ensure the appointment of teams of cleaning workers from tomorrow morning for the purpose of improving the cleaning system of the premises.

After the above, the District Magistrate also inspected the hostel area for the purpose of taking stock of the arrangements for the stay of the participants who came to participate in the Khelo India University Games. In the inspection, AC facilities were found in all the rooms and adequate cleanliness was found in the toilets. An air-conditioned dining area has also been arranged for catering to the players and official staff.

Deputy District Magistrate Sadar  Naveen Chandra, Tehsildar Sadar and other departmental officers were present in the inspection.
