Lucknow: The state of Uttar Pradesh has gone into High alert mode after the commander of the popular front of India was nabbed from the state capital along with another active member.
With the major arrests, cops have upped their vigil and there is a security upgradation that has been put into force in the twin cities of Kanpur and Lucknow. Strong instructions have been passed on by the DIG, to carry out a checking operation along with increasing intelligence surveillance with the district police.
Intelligence has been deployed to scrutinize activities of the people sent to jail and their accounts during the protest against CAA and NRC.
A special task force of the state had arrested two members including the commander, exposing the conspiracy to shake Lucknow before the foundation day of PFI organization. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Dr Preetinder Singh said that the PFI’s connection was also revealed during the earlier protests by the CAA and NRC in the district. The PFI also threatened to kill the national spokesman of the Sufi Islamic Board. Intelligence agencies have also been deployed to keep a close watch on crowded places such as bus stands, temples, railway stations, malls etc.
