Lucknow Mayor Cracks Whip
Lucknow: Maintaining cleanliness is a habit and who knows that better than Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia under whose watch the Cleanliness rank of the city has steadily improved. On a mission to serve the city well, the first woman Mayor has been able to show that in a man’s world women are second to none.
In recent weeks, the Mayor has been on a marathon drive to carry out surprise inspections and set the garbage dumped in order. Only recently she reached Shankarpurwa II in the early hours and found a lot of dirt, she suspended the supervisor, only 26 out of 63 employees were found, instructions were given to change the organization.
The mayor did not find the cleaning work satisfactory, in many localities, the drains were found to be choked and littered with garbage. Only one female sweeper was seen in the above mentioned mohallas.
Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia’s continuous surprise inspection of cleanliness in wards continues, she imposed a fine of Rs 3 lakh on two institutions. Bhatia inspected the cleanliness system in many areas in Kanhaiya Madhavpur II and Haiderganj II wards, and ordered imposition of a fine of Rs 3 lakh on the two working institutions.
The Mayor imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on illegal timber store on the road from Dubagga to Awadh intersection and fined Rs 1,000 on Yasin Momos, who encroached on the drain.
The mayor directed the zonal officer to remove illegal encroachments on the divider of the road going from Dubagga to Awadh crossroads.
Meanwhile the Lok Mangal Diwas is being held regularly. The latest was held in Zone 3 and Zone 4 in which Ramsetu, a resident of Vishwas khand, told the mayor that submersible has not been installed in the park of his locality, on which the mayor asked the city engineer to solve the problem immediately.
The residents near Kalyan Mandap of the metropolis told the Mayor that DJ plays in Kalyan Mandap even after 10 o’clock and the people around have to face trouble, on which the Mayor gave instructions to the in-charge Kalyan Mandap to stop DJ after 10 o’clock.
During this, a total of 25 complaints were registered, out of which 5 complaints of engineering, 2 of tax department, 07 of health, 03 of marg Prakash, 01 of garden, 2 of encroachment, and 05 of others were registered.
