Lucknow Mayor does Shilapujan for setting up Lord Parshuram statue

Lucknow: Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia did Shilapujan to install the idol of Lord Parashuram in Budheshwar temple, a marble statue will be installed.

The construction of the structure of Lord Parashuram proposed in Budheshwar temple was started by offering prayers with Viprajans.

The Mayor said that 8 feet long and 2.5 feet wide marble statue of Lord Parashuram would be installed in this prestigious temple, the construction work of which has started.

Lord Parashuram was an obedient son and beyond vengeance. Describing Lord Parashurama, the mayor said that it was the brilliance and bravery of Lord Parashurama that he ended the chaos by killing Kartavirya Sahasrarjuna and supported morality and justice.

Lord Vishnu took birth as Lord Parashurama. His main objective was the establishment of Dharma and the eradication of Adharma. Lord Parashuram had worked for the welfare of all.

The Mayor further said that he never did any work out of a sense of vengeance. Lord Parashurama was an obedient son, he was also beyond vengeance – once upon seeing Gandharvaraj Chitrarath sitting with Apsaras, Renuka, who went to collect water on the banks of the Ganges for Havan, became enamored and stayed there for some time.

Angry sage Jamadagni ordered all sons to kill Mother Renuka as a punishment for his wife’s anti-Aryan behavior and mental adultery. When the other brothers could not do so, Lord Parshuram ji, influenced by his father’s tenacity, beheaded his mother and killed all his brothers who came forward to save her.

When his father Jamadagni, pleased with this act, requested him to ask for a boon, Lord Parashuram ji asked for a boon for everyone to be revived and to destroy the memory of their killing.

Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia along with Ajay Tiwari, Komal Dixit, MP Dixit, Pradeep Tiwari, Prem Tiwari, Vijay Tripathi, SP Pandey, KC Bajpayee, Ram Shankar Rajput and other people were present.
