Lucknow Mayor graces inauguration of unique initiative for Diabetes patients by RSSDI UP Chapter
Lucknow: Under the aegis of Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India Uttar Pradesh branch, an ambitious program was organized which was inaugurated by Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia.
One state one day 1000 feet test
In the program, feet of about 1000 patients of diabetes were examined simultaneously at 100 places of the state. Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia as the chief guest said that this innovative effort made by your organization is highly appreciable.
Testing the feet of diabetic patients simultaneously at 100 places of the state and giving them the right advice is a very commendable step.
Today, India has the highest number of diabetic patients and these efforts by you will benefit the patients a lot.
Prof Anuj Maheshwari instructed the diabetic patients not to walk barefoot and advised to avoid smoking. Prof. Narsingh Verma advised to get the feet checked once in a year and strict control of sugar.
Ajay Tiwari, the secretary of the organization, told that diabetic foot is a very serious problem which can reach canker or amputation.
Through a very simple test, monofilament test, we can check the sensation of the foot and tell the measures of prevention related to it to the patient.
The program was presided over by RSSDI UP chapter chairman Elect Prof Anuj Maheshwari and Prof Narsingh Verma Treasurer, RSSDI UP chapter.
