Lucknow’s much talked about Ganga Run spreads the word on Cleanliness of Holy Ganga
Lucknow: Under the Namami Gange programme, a ‘Ganga Run’ (half-marathon) was organized by the State Clean Ganga Mission, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department in the capital Lucknow to increase public awareness about the cleanliness of Ganga.
This race started from KD Singh Babu Stadium after passing through Hazratganj, Secunderabad, Gomti-Pul, Khatu Shyam Mandir, Hanuman Setu, Parivartan Chowk and ended back at KD Singh Babu Stadium. The program was inaugurated by the Director Finance, Namami Gange Ratnesh Kumar Singh by showing the green flag.
Before the start of the race, the participants danced hard on Zumba. Prizes were distributed after the completion of the half marathon. Before this, the participants also shared their ideas for maintaining the cleanliness and continuity of Ganga and other rivers.
In the half marathon, Neetu Kumari stood first, Preeti Yadav second, Monika Upadhyay third in the women’s category, while Islam Ali first, Sayyub Khan second and Anupam third in the men’s category. Apart from this, consolation prizes were given to Rahul Nishad, Himanshu, Muskaan and Kareena. Before the prize distribution, the participants actively participated in the Ganga quiz, in which Achintya Pratap Shahi, Aishwarya etc. received the prizes.
The prizes were distributed by Ratnesh Kumar Singh, Director Finance, Namami Gange.
