Mafia lodged in U.P. jails will be on the radar of the third eye

Lucknow: On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the work of increasing the number of CCTV cameras and upgrading them in 30 jails of the state is in the final stages to keep an eye on every activity of the dreaded criminals and mafia lodged in the jails of Uttar Pradesh.

A senior officer of the jail department gave this information. The official said that this ambitious project would be completed by next February. A proposal was sent by the department to the government in this regard last year, on which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a high-level meeting, directed the home department to release a budget of about Rs 976 lakh.

At the same time, in the second phase, a budget of about six lakh rupees was released to increase the number of CCTV cameras in 20 other jails of the state and to replace the old cameras, for which tender process has been started by the Jail Department, which Will be completed by April. Director General of Police (Prisons) Anand Kumar said that in order to strengthen the security system in the jails of the state, the work of increasing the number of cameras and connecting them with surveillance is going on on a war footing.

He informed that on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 933 CCTV cameras are being installed in 30 jails, out of which 670 new CCTVs have been installed while the remaining damaged cameras are being replaced. In such a situation, with the installation of 34 CCTVs in these jails, their number has increased from 50 to 60 here. Maximum 46 cameras have been installed in Agra District Jail. Kumar said that all these cameras have been connected directly to the prison headquarters so that the prisons can be directly monitored 24 hours a day through the video wall in the command center operated at the prison headquarters. The jails in the state where cameras are being changed include the sensitive Banda jail, where mafia Mukhtar Ansari is lodged.

Apart from this, the number of CCTV cameras has also been increased in Central Jails Agra, Bareilly Fatehgarh, Naini and Varanasi. He informed that the process of installing CCTV cameras in Central Jails Agra, Bareilly, Fatehgarh, Naini, Varanasi has been completed. Along with this, District Prisons Agra, Firozabad, Aligarh, Sultanpur, Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Varanasi, Etawah, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Faizabad, Barabanki, Kannauj, Azamgarh, Sitapur, Chitrakoot, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, New CCTVs have been installed in Unnao, Banda and Pratapgarh while defective CCTV cameras are being replaced.
