Lucknow: Mahanagar President Anand Dwivedi worshiped Ma Shakti by worshiping the Goddess as per the rituals in the Kanya Puja program organized at Manas Vihar Purvanchal Nagar Park during Sharadiya Navratri, a special occasion of worship of Mother Goddess Adishakti.
They washed the feet of 11 virgin girls symbolizing the nine forms of Maa Durga, covered them with chunari, performed aarti, fed them with devotion, took blessings of them by giving them dakshina and gifts.
After the puja, prasad was served to these girls and more than 500 girls and small children with their own hands. Addressing the program, Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi said that worship of mother power is the culture of our country. That is why there is a tradition of worshiping girls on Ashtami day. On this occasion, along with Havan puja, worship of Maa Durga was also done.
Media in-charge Praveen Garg said that organizer Ashish Mishra Guddu, Vice President Rakesh Singh, Mahila Morcha City President Sita Negi, Councilor Richa Mishra, Bhupendra Sharma, Adarsh Mishra were mainly present in the Kanya Pujan program.
