Lucknow: State Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel participated in the program organized on the completion of one year of Radio Goonj, started by King George’s Medical University, Lucknow.
On this occasion, the Governor also inaugurated three new facilities X-ray irradiator, sewage treatment and effluent treatment plant and intervention radiology ward in the Medical University.
On this occasion, the Governor congratulated the university for getting A+ in NAAC assessment and said that there is a lot of difference between a medical university and a normal university. The scope of medical universities and their responsibilities to the society are very wide and important. To perform well in NAAC while discharging your responsibilities well is a great achievement. Highlighting why NAAC evaluation becomes necessary for any university, he said that it gives the university an opportunity to think about its working style and improve it.
The Governor while congratulating Radio KGMU Goonj on completion of one year successfully aired by the University and proving useful for the society, suggested that through outreach programs by the Radio KGMU Goonj team of the University, the local community such as our along with providing health-related information to women and our daughters in a simple way, the words of experts should also be disseminated in simple language.
On this occasion, the Governor also inaugurated the millet fair organized by the university and said that in the changing lifestyle, it has become necessary to include millet in the diet for a healthy body. The Prime Minister of the country has declared the year 2023 as the International Millet Year and he has given a new name to the coarse grain ‘Shri Anna’.
Therefore, I want that the university should work to make women and daughters aware of nutrition and health, to include the best diet millets in their lifestyle, along with malnutrition, TB, 100 percent delivery of women in the hospital. It should be done and a serious issue like feeding should also be raised and for this the awareness program should also be broadcast on Radio Goonj.
Expressing his views on technology on this occasion, the Governor said that by using technology we can serve humans in the best possible way. He said that the whole world is doing new research everyday to save humans as well as animals. As much as it is necessary to save humans, equally it is necessary to think and be sensitive for animals.
By helping other countries in the time of Corona, India has proved that India lives for humanity. In another programme, the Governor visited the digital van at Shahminashah Road Government Inter College for Girls and interacted with the students after visiting the classroom.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, Dr. Bipin Puri, Dr. Kirti Verma, Dr. Tulika Chandra, Dr. Vineet Sharma, Dr. AK Tripathi, Dr. KK Singh and Dr. Anit Parihar and other doctors, employees and a large number of Students pursuing medical education were present.
