Lucknow: A mass movement of tree plantation has been envisaged in the coming year. It is expected tht once 30 crore are planted in 2021, it will fulfill the oxygen requirement of 12.30 crore people every day. A healthy and middle aged tree produces 225.80 liters of oxygen per day.
After the planting of 30 crore trees they will emit 6,774 crore liters of oxygen. A healthy person requires 550 liters of oxygen per day. Therefore, in case of survival of all the planted trees, they will fulfill the oxygen requirement of 12.30 crore persons per day. Assuming the price of oxygen at Rs 4 per liter, the value of oxygen obtained from the planted trees every day would be Rs 50 crore. Trees, in the process of making food through photosynthesis, take carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and emit oxygen to the air.
