Mass Yoga spreads the word on its miraculous effects

Lucknow: Yogotsav was organized under the joint aegis of Faculty of Yoga and Alternative Medicine, University of Lucknow and Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi, Government of India, in continuation of the 9th International Day of Yoga.

In the morning, a mass yoga exercise program was organized in front of Lal Baradari, in which school teachers, staff, students and general public participated. The theme of the program was set as “Yoga and Health”. During the morning programme, Tadasana, Vajrasana, Pawanmuktasana and Nadi Shodhana Pranayama, Bhramari Pranayama Sheetali Pranayama, meditation for mental health, Bhramari Pranayama were practiced to enhance physical health.

In the morning, the Dean of the University, Student Welfare Prof. Poonam Tandon said that health is an integral part of life. That’s why everyone should do yoga everyday. Dr. Amarjeet Yadav, the coordinator of the program told that this program is being organized in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi.

Dr. Yadav said that in modern times a person is suffering from stress, in these circumstances the practice of yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation is going to give relief to the stressed people. Stress is reduced by the practice of Anulom-Vilom, Bhramari and Padmasan. A seminar on the topic of Yoga and Health was organized in the faculty auditorium from 11:00 am.

Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Former Director Patel Chest Institute Delhi University was appointed as the chief guest in the seminar. Prof. Prasad told that health is an integral part of life. At present, due to the wrong lifestyle, the health of the people is continuously declining.  Along with daily yogic diet for the advancement of health, health can be improved by practicing Tadasana, Bhujangasana, Pawanmuktasana, Shalabhasana and Kapalbhati and meditation. Senior yoga practitioner Dr. Ohri said that Bharat Yoga Vidya develops social relationships and the ability to live life. Regarding the programs related to Yoga Day, Dr. Amarjit Yadav said in the seminar that in the 9th International Yoga Day, continuous programs will run from May 27, 2023 to June 30, 2023, which include ten seminars and five workshops and free yoga consultations under the Yoga Sudha program.

Session will also be organized. Yoga camps will also be organized at 100 places in Lucknow city. Dean of Yoga Faculty, Prof. Ashok Kumar Sonkar ji expressed his gratitude to the guests and while discussing various programs of the faculty, stressed on the expansion of the faculty. Prof. BD Singh, Dean of Law Faculty, presided over the programme. A large number of teachers and employees participated in the seminar. Dr. Umesh Kumar Shukla, Dr. Satyendra Kumar Mishra, Dr. Ramnaresh and Vivek Rawat were present during the seminar.
