Lucknow: The weakest from the political positioning point of view seems to be Bahujan Samaj Party. With the bugle of 2022 U.P polls sounded, the BSP is finally preparing for the upcoming elections. The name of Gautam Budh Nagar automatically comes up as soon as Bahujan Samaj Party is mentioned, because BSP supremo Mayawati belongs from here.
Badalpur village of Dadri is her native village. In the last two decades, the party has dominated for more than half the time. Jewar has seen a BSP MLA in the assembly from 2002 to 2017. Satveer Gurjar of the party has been MLA from Dadri seat for two consecutive terms from 2007 to 2017, but since then the political equations have completely changed.
All the seats in the district have BJP MLAs. Now the challenge before the BSP is to get back its lost mass base. Bahujan Samaj Party has fielded advocate Narendra Bhati Dada from Jewar and farmer leader Manveer Bhati from Dadri. In Noida Assembly, Kriparam Sharma is preparing to contest.
An officials announcement however is awaited. This seat, formed in 2012, has remained untouched for the BSP. The party was second in 2012 and third in 2017. The party has a strong vote bank in the Dadri and Jewar assemblies.
