Mayor instructs officials to repair tubewells for better water availability to city denizens

Lucknow: Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia held a review meeting of the Water Resources Department, instructed to repair 12 tube wells and all Submersible.

In view of the scorching heat, on May 16, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia reached Aishbagh’s water department headquarter and held a review meeting with General Manager Jalkal SK Verma and executive engineers of all zones to improve the drinking water system. Necessary guidelines have been given to the officials so that there is no shortage.

During the review meeting, when Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia asked about the availability of water, General Manager Jalkal told the mayor that pure drinking water is being provided to the public from 40 zonal pumping stations, 147 overhead tanks, 750 tube wells, whose water is available at 250 random places every day. The investigation is also being done, whose photos are being brought daily on WhatsApp and a regular digital diary is being made.

Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said that in view of the scorching heat, the time of water should be increased as per the requirement, as well as if there is a complaint of contaminated water supply, then it should be disposed of immediately and till the disposal is not done, it should be purified through tankers for the public. Drinking water should be made available.

Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia directed all the engineers in the review meeting of Jalkal that all the Submersibles which are in bad condition in Lucknow region should be rectified at that time. The Mayor said that within three days, all the executive engineers should survey and list all the faulty Submersible pumps in their areas and get them repaired immediately so that the public can get immediate relief.

Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia, expressing concern over the depleting groundwater level and keeping in view the future requirements, directed all the executive engineers to identify 20 such places in their respective zones where rain water can be conserved in the rainy season and future in the falling groundwater level. for water conservation. The Mayor said that Rs 2 crore has been made in the budget for this.
The mayor told the officials that there is an urgent need to start returning every drop of rain back to the earth, so it should be started only in the rainy season.

Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia directed General Manager Jalkal to immediately rebuild 12 damaged tube wells in the city, so that the people there could get pure drinking water in the scorching heat.

During the meeting, Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia along with General Manager Jalkal Shailendra Verma, Secretary Ram Kailas, Executive Engineer Avinash Kumar Srivastava, Vishwanath Gupta, Bansidhar Rajput, Ramesh Chandra, Vikram and other people were present.
