Mayor Sushma Kharakwal plants trees to send out a green message
Lucknow: After taking the oath, Mayor Sushma Kharkawal first planted saplings of Peepal, Banyan, Neem and Amla etc. in Vrindavan Sector 10 Park with the aim of making Lucknow green and giving the message of environmental protection to the people of Lucknow.
The mayor along with the municipal commissioner and councilors started the tree plantation drive in which 112 saplings were planted by the mayor, one municipal commissioner and 110 councilors. During the tree plantation, the mayor said that it is now the responsibility of our newly elected 110 councilors and the team of Municipal Commissioner to preserve these plants as well as to make Lucknow more green, clean and pollution free by being determined and united.
She said we will work and soon the work done in this direction will be visible to the public. Plantation is very important for environmental protection, so I appeal to everyone to join this campaign and plant more and more trees.
Municipal commissioner Indrajit Singh, media in-charge Praveen Garg, regional councilor Kaushalendra Singh, Saurabh Singh Monu, Rajni Awasthi, KN Singh, Rajeshwari Tripathi, Bina Singh, Ganesh Joshi were mainly present during tree plantation.
