Meeting of the executive council of Rohilkhand University was held
BAREILLY, 12 September .A meeting of the Executive Council of University was held ,here yesterday in the committee room of the Vice Chancellor’s office of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. It was convened under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor K. P. Singh in which many important decisions were taken by the Executive Council.
On 6 February 2023, the University had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Disha School Bareilly which is run for disabled students. In continuation of the above, the Executive Council has given consent to the formation of 11 member General Assembly, out of which three members will be from Disha Vidyalaya and the remaining 8 members will be from the University.
Apart from the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar, 6 members and the Dean of the University will be its ex-officio members. This school is currently providing study facilities up to class 12, which the university decided to expand to run from class KG to PG (Masters degree).
It was decided by the Executive Council to establish and start operation of Faculty of Agriculture in the university campus. New courses and research work related to agriculture will be conducted in the said faculty. Many departments will be opened in the said faculty. The courses will be started soon after completing the formalities. Laboratory, employees, teachers will be appointed in the said faculty, so that a new quality dimension of agricultural research work and teaching as per the standards can be started in Bareilly division.
The Executive Council passed a proposal to start medical courses in the university campus under Faculty of Medicine, under which it was agreed to run medical, paramedical and biomedical courses. It is noteworthy that with the opening of the Medical College in the Government University in Bareilly Division, the patients of the surrounding districts will get quality medical facilities, which is the aim of the Uttar Pradesh Government and the students will get the opportunity to get medical education in the Government University. Under this, in the future the university will establish a medical college, paramedical college etc. in which a large number of teachers and employees will be appointed, which will also create huge opportunities for employment generation. Along with the present Uttar Pradesh Government, the Government of India also aims to create employment in the area.
There are currently three programs running in the MBA department of the university. The University is soon going to upgrade the MBA Part Time Program and establish it as MBA Executive Programme. This MBA Executive Program will be of 2 years instead of 3 years. It may be noted that the university had recently signed an agreement with John Carroll University of America, under which students studying under the MBA Executive Program will also get assistance for their studies from John Carroll University of America. The professional utility of this new course will be more than that of part time MBA and the students studying there will be more in demand in the job market. The university intends to start this course from the current session 2023-24.
Recently new teachers have been appointed in the University for which the Executive Council agreed to the proposal of providing Seed Money. Under this, a seed worth Rs 5 lakh will be provided to the newly appointed Professor, Rs 3 lakh to the Associate professor and Rs 2 lakh to the Assistant Professor, under which teachers will be able to get necessary furniture and equipment, books, computers etc. related to teaching and research work.
By the proposal of the University Executive Council, Outstanding Teacher Award was recommended for the teachers working in the university, apart from this, Life Time Achievement Award can also be given to retired/former teachers from the university. These awards will be given to teachers who have done excellent work in their teaching field, which will inspire other teachers also.
The Executive Council also gave its approval to the proposal of constituting a College Development Council for monitoring the affiliated colleges of the University. This College Development Council will provide assistance to the University in smoothening the functioning and operation of all the colleges affiliated to Rohilkhand University.
In this meeting of the Executive Council, University Registrar Ajay Krishna Yadav, Finance Officer Vinod Kumar Lal, Dr. Suresh Kumar, Dr. Amit Singh, Professor Sudhir Kumar Verma, Professor Santosh Arora, Professor S.K Pandey, Professor S.K Garg, Professor Tulika Saxena. , Professor Jitendra Kumar, Dr. Harikesh Singh, Dr. Suman Sharma, Dr. Aslam Khan, Dr. P K Shukla, Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Dr. S.D Singh and Dr. Deepak Gangwar were present.
