Minister Jitin Prasada calls for sprucing up U.P. State Construction Corporation
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Public Works Minister Jitin Prasada held a review meeting of the works of the corporation with Principal Secretary Public Works Ajay Chauhan and MD UPRNN Yogesh Pawar and other officers of the corporation in the auditorium located at Uttar Pradesh State Construction Corporation Headquarters.
Expressing displeasure over the slow progress of works in the review meeting, the Public Works Minister directed that the works being carried out by the corporation should be completed within the stipulated time keeping in mind the transparency and quality, any kind of irregularity and lateness will not be tolerated. Will be done, if irregularities are found, action will also be taken while fixing the responsibility of the concerned.
The Public Works Minister directed that necessary action should be taken while preparing a detailed road map for the revival of the corporation so that the corporation can regain its old fame. The works under construction, whose progress is more than 75 percent, should be completed soon and made public useful. The works of the corporation which have remained incomplete due to financial irregularities for the past several years, action should be taken against the culprits and money should be recovered and the case should be referred to the SIT for investigation as per the requirement.
With regard to the declining turnover of the Corporation, it was directed that the turnover should be increased by acquiring maximum number of works. Efforts should be made to earn more and more the tender works published on EPC mode by the Public Works Department within the state. In view of the shortage of technical staff in the Corporation, it was directed that action should be taken for new recruitment as per the rules, assessing each cadre in view of the requirement. It should be ensured that action is taken according to the rules of promotions pending for the last several years in various categories of the corporation.
