Mission Indradhanush 5.0 kicks off with massive efforts

Lucknow: The second phase of ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0’ campaign is going on to increase the immunity of pregnant women and to protect children up to 5 years of age from 12 deadly diseases. Under this, vaccination of pregnant women and children will be done in urban and rural areas of all the districts of the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to all departments, NGOs, intellectuals, religious leaders and parents to make the ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0’ campaign successful.
He has said that additional efforts are needed for 100% complete immunization of children. ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0’ is being organized with the aim of immunizing children and women who are deprived of vaccination.
The ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0’ campaign is being run in three phases. The first phase ran from 7 to 12 August. The second phase is from 11 to 16 September. The third phase will be run from 9 to 14 October.
The campaign protects pregnant women and children up to 5 years of age from 12 life-threatening diseases (tuberculosis, mumps, tetanus, whooping cough, influenza, hepatitis B, measles, rubella, meningitis (Japanese encephalitis), pneumonia, polio and rotavirus-induced diarrhea). A target has been set to immunize for prevention.
