Mock drills held in 400 hospitals in 75 districts as COVID scare rises in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Once again, the health department in the state is on alert mode due to the sound of new variant BF7 of Covid being reported in many countries of the world. In such a situation on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a mock drill was held in the dedicated hospital to test and prevent the new variant of Corona across the state, in which the availability of ventilators, medicines, oxygen was tested.

During this, the pressure of the oxygen plant in the ICU ward was closely checked. Mock drills were held in more than 400 hospitals in 75 districts of the state. During this, nodal officers appointed by the government were also present in every district. Along with this, the Surveillance Medical Officer of WHO also witnessed the mock drill.

There will be no shortage of anything: Deputy CM

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak reached the capital’s district hospital Balrampur at around 10 am to test the reality of the mock drill that took place on the instructions of the Chief Minister. Inaugurating the mock drill here, he found all the arrangements right from the availability of oxygen to ventilators, ICU etc. Also instructed the officials to be in alert mode regarding the new variant of Corona. Special care should be taken that all the staff do not come to the hospital without masks. He said that the government is very serious about these variants of Corona. He said that if anything is needed regarding Corona, he can contact him. During this, the Deputy CM closely examined the availability of medicines, vaccines and other essential things.

Ready for the new variant of Corona in Varanasi

In Varanasi, 11 hospitals, including the district hospital, tested the resources in a mock drill regarding the new variant of the global pandemic Covid-19. During this, availability of health facilities, capacity of isolation beds, availability of oxygen and ICU, ventilators were assessed. Mock drill took place at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Government Hospital in the presence of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sandeep Chaudhary, Additional Health Director Dr. Anshu Singh and Chief Medical Superintendent. The CMO said that if there are cases of corona in the district, then we are fully prepared for it. There is no availability of medicines and lack of oxygen. All the hospital staff have been alerted, so we are ready to deal with any emergency.

Inspection of standards set in Gorakhpur

In Gorakhpur, BRD Medical College, 100 Bed TB Hospital, Government Homeopathy Medical College, Barhalganj, CHC Chaurichaura and CHC Campierganj conducted mock drills regarding Covid treatment. During this, the prescribed standards were also inspected. From the availability of oxygen to ventilators, ICU etc. all the arrangements were found to be correct. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashutosh Dubey says that all arrangements regarding Covid management in the district are sure. All 200 ventilators are ready. 1000 oxygen concentrators, more than 1000 large cylinders available. At the same time, arrangements will be increased according to the need. He told that the district team is fully prepared to deal with any situation.

1402 General and 344 ICU beds reserved for Covid patients in Agra

Mock drills were conducted in Agra’s SN Medical College, District Hospital, Community Health Center (CHC) Barauli Ahir, CHC Khandauli, CHC Sayya and CHC Bah’s Covid Ward. In view of the danger of corona, mock drill was done in all the hospitals from admitting a dummy Covid patient to providing treatment. It was seen through mock drill that at what level the problem is coming. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Arun Srivastava said that in view of the new variant, a total of 1402 general beds and 344 ICU beds have been reserved for Covid patients. Nodal officers have been appointed at all the selected CHCs. At the same time, 40 beds have been made in the District Hospital, 68 beds in SN Medical College. Along with this, a four-bed Kovid ward has been made in all the CHCs.

Everything fine in Bareilly

During the mock drill, Bareilly Commissioner Samyukta Samaddar inquired about the availability, functionality of ventilators, high flow nasal cannula by-pack machine in the ICU ward. Apart from this, the medicine and vaccine necessary for Kovid-19 were also reviewed. The oxygen plant installed in the hospital premises was fully active. The pressure of the oxygen plant was found to be as per the purity standards. Oxygen air flow was found to be 960 LPM, purity was also 93 percent and pressure was in the range of 4 to 5. Oxygen is being supplied through pipeline from the oxygen plant to all the beds. He told that a 300-bed hospital has been prepared for Corona, where in the initial phase, 75 beds and 33 ventilators have been arranged to prevent Covid. Apart from this, 161 oxygen concentrators, 290 oxygen jumbo cylinders of 48 liters each are available.

1532 beds reserved in Prayagraj

Mock drill was done in 8 hospitals of Prayagraj for preparations to deal with the new variant of Kovid. In Prayagraj, mock drills were held at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Level 1 Hospital at Phulpur, Kotwa Manda and Ram Nagar, Railway Hospital, Bailey Hospital and United Medi City Hospital at Level 2. According to mock drill in-charge Dr. Varun, 1532 beds are available in the district to deal with Kovid. There are 10 oxygen plants operating. Apart from this, there are a total of 317 ventilators in hospitals. In addition, 458 oxygen concentrators are also available, of which 279 are of 10 liters and 176 are of 5 liters.

A mock drill regarding Covid was held, in which officers and administrative officers of the health department were present. During this, availability of oxygen, availability of oxygen concentrator, ICU, ventilator and medicines were checked. On finding deficiencies in the hospital during the mock drill, the officers along with the hospital administration brainstormed to complete them at the earliest. At the same time, instructions were given to remove some minor deficiencies immediately.
