Lucknow: Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has given instructions to all the concerned officers to benefit maximum number of people in individual beneficiary schemes under MNREGA. He has said that not only should the job card holders be benefitted by undertaking public and community works of MNREGA, but in individual works also, more and more people should be benefitted by giving employment as per the guidelines of MNREGA.
Maurya said that during the tenure of about five and a half years of the government, 7.81 lakh individual beneficiary works were done.
Under MNREGA, so far in the current financial year, 01 lakh 18 thousand people have been benefited in individual beneficiary schemes. The Deputy Chief Minister has directed that the action of removing water hyacinth from ponds and lakes etc. under MNREGA should be ensured as per rules.
According to the information received from Rural Development Commissioner GS Priyadarshi, under MNREGA, where big and public interest works like horticulture, plantation, consolidation, land development, water conservation, flood control are done, there are cattle sheds, goat sheds, poultry sheds. Individual beneficiary works like shed, nedup compost, dharmi compost, farm pond, plantation are also done.
Additional Commissioner MGNREGA Yogesh Kumar informed that 39631 in the year 2017-18, 48830 in the year 2018-19, 153047 in the year 2019-20, 262111 in the year 2020-21, 159087 in the year 2021-22 in individual beneficiary works benefiting the eligible people. also made available.
