NCB Refuses To Divulge Details Regarding Complaints Filed Against Its Deputy Director Gyaneshwar Singh
Mumbai: Gyaneshwar Singh, Deputy Director of Narcotics Control Of Bureau (NCB), was recently in news regarding the Aryan Khan drug case. But his term has been marred with many controversies. The RTI application against Gyaneshwar Singh was filed by well known RTI activist Anil Galgali but citing section 24 of RTI Act (2005), the NCB has refused to divulge any details regarding such cases against him.
RTI activist Anil Galgali has been seeking all information related to the corruption charges and complaints leveled against the NCB Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh. He has also asked the authorities to furnish details regarding what actions that had been taken against such cases involving Gyneshwar Singh and what is the current status of all such matters. But citing section 24 of the RTI Act (2005) the NCB has refuesed to share any information related to Gyaneshwar Singh. That’s the reason Anil Galgali has now filed the first appeal against the stand taken by NCB over his application.
RTI activist Anil Galgali further stated that cases regarding corruption and human right violations comes under RTI act of 2005 and hence no agency is exempted from it. He informs that Delhi High Court had recently passed an order stating that if the matter is related to corruptions and human rights violations then the related information should be provided to the seeker based on such RTI applications and it should be removed from the list of prohibited articles.
Citing the High Court order Anil Galgali said that such kind of important and relative information must be put on websites so that comman people are aware of the facts related to such matters.
