NCL committed to further strengthen the sports culture in the company – Manish Kumar, Director (Personnel), NCL

Singrauli: NCL has performed brilliantly in all the three competitions in the Coal India Intercompany Tournament.

Director (Personnel) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL),  Manish Kumar congratulated the sportspersons who performed brilliantly in different sports in the Coal India Inter Company Competition 2022-23 and congratulated them for the sports facilities in the company. During this, all the players shared their experiences so that the sports facilities in the company could be further strengthened.

Manish Kumar encouraged all the players to practice the sports of their interest according to the rules and also expressed the company’s commitment to improve the sports related infrastructure.

NCL became champion in inter company volleyball competition

Recently, the NCL team won the title 3-1 in the Coal India Inter-Company Volley Ball Competition, displaying a brilliant game. The final match was played between the team of NCL and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in which NCL was the winner and MCL team was the runner-up. During the competition, Mr. Sujit Kumar was awarded for Best Setter, Shashi Kumar Vaish for Best Defender,  Parmanand Singh for Best Coach and  Vinod Kumar Singh for Best Team Manager. The captain of the team was  Pankaj Kumar Vaish.

The team was the runner-up in cricket, also won the title in bridge

In the Coal India Inter Company Cricket Tournament held at WCL, the NCL team performed brilliantly and reached the final match and became the runners-up. The captain of the cricket team was  Ganesh Ram, the manager was  Rajeev Ghosh, the coach was  Satish Rai.

NCL also secured 2nd position in IMP pairs and 3rd position in MP pairs in Coal India Inter Company Bridge Tournament. On behalf of NCL, the team of  Sushant Kumar Sahu and  Yogesh Rai showed excellent sportsmanship.

It may be noted that for the all-round development of the employees, NCL has developed modern sports infrastructure. Along with this, several regional, inter-regional and inter-company sports competitions like cricket, lawn tennis, badminton, football, carrom, volleyball, athletics, weightlifting and bodybuilding were organized throughout the year to encourage the employees towards sports.
