Neeraj Strikes Again

Oregon: The World Athletics Championships proved to be an important and historic place for India, as Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra  won the silver medal in this tournament. In the Javelin Throw final of the World Athletics Championships Neeraj Chopra threw his second throw in good fashion, covering a distance of 82.39 metres. This took him to the fourth position, while Rohit Yadav of India could only throw his javelin 77.96 meters.

Neeraj Chopra threw 86.37m in his third attempt. This is his best performance so far in three attempts. Neeraj Chopra moved up to second position after the fourth attempt. His best was 88.13m, trailing Granada legend Anderson Peters. Neeraj Chopra won a silver medal in the men’s javelin throw final and became the second Indian after Anju Bobby George to win a medal at the World Championships.
