New avenues opening for Forensic Science Education in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: The efforts of the Yogi Adityanath government engaged in creating new employment opportunities for the youth of Uttar Pradesh seem to be paying off. Now the youth of the state will also be able to get employment in courses like forensic sciences.
For this, the state government has started the process of application for admission in the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences (UPSIFC) in Sarojini Nagar for the academic session 2023-24.
Students studying from this institute will not only become experts in subjects like forensic science, but with their help, the state government will also be able to complete the investigation of criminal cases in a timely manner through a scientific method. In such a situation, the culprit cannot be acquitted due to lack of evidence.
Also, there will be no delay in punishing the criminals. The good thing is also that economically weak youth will also be able to take part in this course, because the government has kept a very low fee for this course. Candidates can apply for this till 22 May. The academic session will start in the first forensic institute of the state from the middle of July.
Study of five courses will start with 160 children
At present, five courses related to forensics are being started in the institute, in which a total of 160 students are being admitted. The fees for all these courses have been kept very affordable at Rs 12,000 per semester. At the same time, the application fee has been kept at Rs 500 for general, OBC and Rs 250 for SC / ST and EWS category. UPSIFC Director ADG Dr. GK Goswami told that at present there are five courses related to forensics BSc / MSc Forensic Science, PG Diploma in Forensic Document Examination, PG Diploma in Cyber Security, PG Diploma in DNA Forensic and PG Diploma in Forensic Ballistics and Explosives. are being operated.
In this, B.Sc./M.Sc. Forensic Science is five years while all the four diploma courses are of one year each. On the other hand, 40 students will be able to take admission in B.Sc/M.Sc Forensic Science course, while in the remaining four diploma courses, 30-30 students will be able to take admission. He told that in the coming time seats in all the courses will be increased along with starting new courses as per the demand. Candidates having these qualifications can take admission
To take admission in B.Sc/M.Sc Forensic Science, the candidate must have passed 12th class. At the same time, he should have studied 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics. For admission in the course, it is necessary to have 60 percent marks for general, OBC, EWS category candidates, while 55 percent marks for SC / ST and PWD category candidates.
For admission to PG Diploma in DNA Forensic, the candidate must have obtained Bachelor’s degree in Science, Forensic Science, Medicine, Pharmacy. At the same time, for admission in the course, it is necessary to have 50 percent marks for general, OBC, EWS category candidates, while 45 percent marks for SC / ST and PWD category candidates.
For admission in PG Diploma in Cyber Security, general, OBC, EWS category candidates must have passed graduation with 50 percent marks while 45 percent marks are required for SC/ST and PWD.
General, OBC, EWS category candidates must have secured 50 percent marks in Bachelor’s degree in Science, Medicine, Forensic Science, Pharmacy or Engineering for admission to Diploma in Forensic Document Examination. At the same time, it is necessary for the candidates of SC / ST and PWD category to have 45 percent marks. Apart from this, the candidate must have worked in the field of finger print science for five years in any government institution.
For admission to PG Diploma in Forensic Ballistics and Explosives, the candidate must have obtained Bachelor’s degree in Science, Forensic Science, Medicine, Pharmacy. At the same time, for admission in the course, it is necessary to have 50 percent marks for general, OBC, EWS category candidates, while 45 percent marks for SC / ST and PWD category candidates.
