New branch building of Sadar Bazar branch of UP Cooperative Bank unveiled by Cooperative Minister
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank aims to earn Rs 425 crore profit by 2026 said Tejveer Singh. It is the intention of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath that banking services have reached from cities to villages. For this, efforts are being made to open at least one branch of UP Cooperative Bank in remote rural areas of the state. With this, banking facility will be easily available to farmers and other people in rural areas.
These things were said by the Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) of Uttar Pradesh GPS Rathore on the occasion of inauguration of the new branch building of UP Cooperative Bank’s Sadar Bazar branch, Lucknow. On this occasion, the Cooperative Minister handed over cheque books to the new account holders in the branch and loan checks to the customers availing loans.
The Cooperative Minister said that a large population of the country was untouched by the banking service, but under the Jan-Dhan Yojana launched by Prime Minister Modi, about 20 crore accounts of the poor were opened, due to which the banking service expanded.
He said that corruption was eradicated by digitizing the banks. Today, the money is sent directly to the beneficiaries of all the schemes in their accounts, which has ended the work of middlemen. He said that 40 branches of the UP Cooperative Bank are functioning at the state level, through which loans and modern banking facilities like internet banking, mobile banking, IMPS, UPI, ATM and POS machines etc. are available to the customers at cheap interest rate like commercial banks. are being made available.
The Cooperative Minister said that UP Cooperative Bank was established in the year 1944, since then it is continuously providing banking services to the people. Today all the branches of the bank are in profit. He said that even today people have maximum faith in Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank. Today the bank is making continuous progress, in view of this NABARD has given ‘A’ grade to UP Cooperative Bank.
Presiding over the program, Chairman of UP Cooperative Bank Tejveer Singh said that there have been many changes in the bank in the last 5 years, at one time the branches of the bank were running at a loss, but today all the branches are in a position of profit after tireless efforts. In the financial year 2022-23, the UP Cooperative Bank has earned a net profit of 112 crores with a business of 22 thousand crores. By the year 2026, a target has been set to earn a profit of Rs 425 crore with a business of Rs 65 thousand crore. He said that customers would get banking services with modern banking facilities in the new building of Sadar branch.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary, Cooperative BL Meena said that today there is a need to increase efficiency to provide modern and better banking facilities. He appealed to all the residents of the region to take maximum advantage of the bank’s services.
On this occasion, Additional Commissioner and Additional Registrar (Banking) Mrs. B. Chandrakala, Special Secretary, Cooperative Achhelal Yadav, Managing Director, UP Cooperative Bank, V.K. Mishra, departmental officers/employees and businessmen/account holders of the area were present. At the end of the program, Deputy Chairman of the bank Jitendra Bahadur Singh thanked everyone.
