Lucknow: The new Chief Secretary of U.P., Durga Shankar Mishra took charge. Talking to reporters after assuming office at Lok Bhavan, he said that he would complete the schemes of the Central and State Governments on priority basis by running a campaign. He said his focus would be on completing the development and public welfare schemes launched by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. The Chief Secretary said that work will be done with special focus on schemes like Smart City, AMRUT, PM Svanidhi, Swachh Bharat Mission of the Central Government. The Chief Secretary said that for the last seven years, a wave of change is going on for the development of the country. Durga Shankar Mishra is a senior IAS officer of 1984 batch. He was retiring on 31 December 2021. Durga Shankar is the 54th Chief Secretary of UP. He replaces RK Tiwari, a 1985 batch IAS officer.
