New education policy implemented in BCA course of Faculty of Engineering and Technology of LU
Lucknow: The BCA course conducted in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Lucknow University will now be conducted under the new education policy from the session 2023-24.
Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University Prof. Alok Kumar Rai said that Lucknow University is the first university in India to adopt NEP 2020. The Indian education system focused heavily on theoretical and academic learning, which had limited use in real-world workplaces.
Under the new education policy, the focus of education in India will be on practical-based education, which will be rooted in the ability to teach employment-ready skills to students.
Professor AK Singh, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, said that NEP emphasizes the need for practical education, under which the BCA curriculum has been developed by the faculty of the faculty in such a way that the students get hands-on experience and face the challenges of the real world. This will help the students to develop practical skills and become employable.
With the implementation of the new education policy in the BCA course, now students will get the facility of multiple entry and exit under which:
~ If the student wants to leave the course on completion of the first year of BCA, he will get a certificate in computer application in the first year.
~ If the student leaves the course after completion of second year of BCA, he will get Diploma in Computer Application.
~ On completion of BCA third year the student will be awarded with BCA degree.
~ To students having CGPA above 7.5 in BCA 3rd year
~ BCA by Research degree will be offered for the 4th year.
