Lucknow: The Central Government has decided to set up the new Zonal Headquarters of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at Gorakhpur. The state government will provide necessary land and resources for the headquarters building. This information was given in the meeting of the Ncord State Level Committee chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Central and state government officials participated in the meeting. The Chief Minister said in the meeting that drug trafficking is the problem of every state. All the forces associated with enforcement should unite and work in this direction. We have to make multipronged efforts to investigate the source of drugs, end its network, arrest the culprits and rehabilitate drug addicts.
The campaign against illegal manufacture, purchase and sale of drugs in the state will have to be intensified. Vigilance should be increased on the interstate and international borders. The police stations of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force will be activated in Jhansi, Saharanpur and Ghazipur.
