Lucknow: As Uttar Pradesh fights hard to tide past the COVID hurdles, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has had a word with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath amid growing Corona infection cases in UP and increasing resentment of common people.
The Prime Minister took a detailed report of what is actually happening on the war against COVID. He also received information on the efforts of the state government to control the corona infection and the alleged denial of permission to carry out COVID investigation in private pathology.
The state has been blamed of a complete administrative lapse in thes times of COVID. People in the state have had to wander and search desperately for beds and emergency medicines and oxygen. Due to lack of beds and treatment on time, many people have lost their lives.

On the prevention of infection: The Chief Minister told the Prime Minister that the government is working with full commitment to control the corona infection. Along with the availability of ICU beds, a comprehensive testing strategy is underway to continuously supply, track and trace oxygen.
The Chief Minister told Modi that 104 private laboratories and 125 public sector laboratories are doing COVID tests. So far, more than 38 million tests have been done. On April 18, private laboratories have conducted more than 19 thousand RTPCR tests. He also told Modi that all the District Magistrates have been instructed to try to increase the RTPCR testing capacity of private laboratories in their respective districts and make full use of this capacity addition.
On not conducting tests with private laboratories: The Chief Minister told the Prime Minister that some selfish elements are trying to spread a rumour that private laboratories are not doing COVID test. He said so far, about 17 lakh COVID tests have been conducted by private laboratories in the state.
