NTPC’s contribution in the development of the country is commendable – Dr. Anju Bala

Sonebhadra,Member National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) Dr. Anju Bala conducted a thorough review of major institutions NCL, Bank etc. in Sonebhadra district.

During her visit, Dr. Anju Bala acknowledged the contribution of NTPC in the interest of the country and NTPC Singrauli’s social welfare schemes like- Girl Empowerment Mission, Mobile Health Service, specially formed Dr. Ambedkar School for Scheduled Castes, etc. various programs, were also highly admired.

Dr. Anju Bala appreciated the social welfare schemes of NTPC Singrauli under CSR and Vanita Samaj in the field of education, health, mobile medical ambulance units, skill development training programs, medical facilities and infrastructure development. She highly appreciated the flagship initiative of NTPC Limited, Girl Empowerment Mission, under which every year 120 rural girl students of Class-V Government schools are given one month residential training for their personality development.

10% meritorious students from each batch are provided free education till class 12th at NTPC Singrauli School. She said that she is hopeful that NTPC Singrauli being a responsible organization would continue with its social development and welfare initiatives in the surrounding communities.

Rajeev Akotkar, Project Head, NTPC Singrauli briefed about the social welfare initiatives of NTPC Singrauli for the development of local communities. During the conversation, he mentioned notable development community projects like Dr. Ambedkar Vidyalaya, a CSR initiative of NTPC Singrauli, which provides free education to more than 800 underprivileged rural SC-ST students and Vanita, run by local rural women. The kitchen was also mentioned.

During the review organized at Conference Hall of NTPC Singrauli Shaktinagar, Dr. Anju Bala, Honorable Member, while addressing the officers of District Administration, said that we all should work under “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas” to make the dream of Hon’ble Prime Minister should come trueby ensuring that all eligible persons should be benefited from the schemes run by the government.

She said that work should be done to provide timely justice to the victims and action should be taken to provide them better education as well as better medical facilities. According to the intention of the government work should be done to connect every eligible person with the schemes of the government, so that their standard of living improves and they move forward on the path of progress.

S.K. Singh, Director (NCSC) said that it is the duty of all, especially the officers holding high positions, to protect the rights of the underprivileged in all communities. He said that the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, NTPC, NCL, bank heads and other projects should adopt a proactive approach on the issues related to SC people and other marginalized communities. He said that we all should work actively to bring justice to the underprivileged sections of the communities and make the dream of Dr BR Ambedkar come true.

Under this three-day review program, Dr. Anju Bala,  Member, National Scheduled Caste Commission (NCSC) and  SK Singh, Director (NCSC) scheduled a comprehensive meeting with various banks of NCL projects, Singrauli and Sonbhadra district and various issues related to Schedule caste employees were discussed in detail and addressed.
Dr. Anju Bala,  S.K. Singh,  B.K. Bhola, held various meetings, talks and in-depth discussions related to community development and progress with common rural people, people’s representatives, women’s groups etc of Singrauli and Sonebhadra district.

During the discussion, various important matters related to Scheduled Castes and other general people and social security schemes related to their government were discussed and positive action was also taken.

Members Dr. Anju Bala, S.K. Singh, Director (NCSC), District Magistrate Sonbhadra, Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra and  Rajeev Akotkar, Project Head, NTPC Singrauli also planted saplings in the premises of NTPC Singrauli Guest House.
