Olaf Scholz is all praise for India
New Delhi: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is on a visit to India, during which he met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu. He reached Rajghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, as well as participated in other programs. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who arrived in Delhi for the first time on his visit to India after becoming German Chancellor, was accorded a traditional welcome. Here some children dressed in Indian clothes welcomed him. German Chancellor reached Rashtrapati Bhavan from Delhi airport. Here the Prime Minister welcomed him and he was given a guard of honour. PM Modi and Olaf Scholz jointly addressed the press after the meeting with PM Modi which lasted for about an hour. During this, PM Narendra Modi said that Germany is our biggest trading partner in the whole of Europe. Along with it is the source of investment. There is a deep understanding between the two countries. The strong ties between India and Germany are based on shared democratic values in mutual interest.
Prime Minister Modi said that the growing cooperation between the two largest democratic economies, India and Germany, is beneficial for the people of both the countries. It gives a positive message to the world. Apart from being our largest trading partner in Europe, Germany is an important source of investment. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said ‘India has made a lot of progress and this is very good for the relations between the two countries. Scholz also targeted Russia. He said the world is suffering the brunt of Russia’s aggression. In such a situation, all the countries are focusing on ensuring food and energy supply. Scholz said around 1,800 German companies are active in India.
