Old is gold at Lucknow University felicitation ceremony

Lucknow: Department of chemistry, Lucknow University organized grand teacher’s day celebration in which retired teachers of the department also participated. The event started with the unveiling of a captivating collection of photos showcasing all the Faculty Members of the Department of Chemistry, University of Lucknow since its Inception by Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, the Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow.

This photograph was of dimension 6 foot by 12 foot having photos of 101 faculty members who have been part of the department and is fixed at the entrance of the department. Such captivating collection is the part of Department of Chemistry, University of Lucknow’s ongoing commitment to recognize and celebrate the outstanding faculty members who shaped and still shaping the intellectual infrastructure of the University and also a tribute to their dedication, knowledge, and contributions to their respective fields.

After the unveiling of photograph, Prof. Anil Mishra the head of the department of chemistry in his address conveyed the illustrious dignitaries about the recent development and academic activities in the department and said every effort are being made for the holistic development of the students. For this department is conducting various activities such as research scholar forum, alumni lecture series and special guest lecture. He also said that unveiling of photographs of all the faculty member was his dream as he personally believe faculty members who served this department with full commitment and rigour can be remembered by this collection.

The dean faculty of science, Prof. Vibhuti Rai in his address appreciated the efforts made by the Prof. Anil Mishra and faculty members and said that such occasions not only provide opportunity to meet with retired teachers rather it provides a chance to gain knowledge from their experience.

After this Vice Chancellor presented photographs to the retired faculty members as a token of appreciation and in his presidential address, he appreciated the efforts of the head department of chemistry for organising such event and lauded his unique idea of preparing such a grand collage of the all the faculty members of the department of chemistry since its inception. He said that our faculty members are the heart of our institution, and we are proud to honor them through this portrait project. Their passion for teaching and research is truly inspiring, and these portraits will serve as a visual representation of their remarkable achievements.” He said that the main strength of this department is its intellectual infrastructure in form of its teaching fraternity and hence this department is not only the face of the faculty rather it can become the face of this University. He also praised the activities being executed in the department of chemistry, which is nurturing knowledge and soft skills amongst the students. He also invited the retired teachers for academic contribution in the department.  He ended his address by praising the efforts of the faculty members of the department for such events and programs.
The program ended with the vote of thanks. The entire program was conducted by Dr. Amrita Srivastava. During this event retired faculty member, alumni of the department of chemistry, director IPPR, superintendent of works, director sanskritiki and others were present.
