Lucknow: The outbreak of Corona is gradually decreasing. There are less than 30 active patients left. Despite this, restrictions regarding Covid continue in KGMU. OPD patients are facing the most problem. Patients are being seen in OPD only on the basis of online registration. On-the-spot registration facility is not fully opened. The poor and the patients coming from far and wide are facing the brunt of this.
On normal days, eight to 10 thousand patients used to visit the OPD of KGMU daily. Registration was closed on the spot after Covid. At the same time, restrictions were also imposed on the number of patients in the departments. This is the reason that at present hardly 2500 to three thousand patients are coming to OPD in OPD. Now on-the-spot registrations are being done for showing in OPD in other government hospitals including PGI and Lohia. But, the online registration form is not being generated in KGMU.
Patients returning without treatment
Patients from all over the state are coming to OPD in KGMU. Patients are also not getting appointment on time. Patients are looking for doctor’s advice. Aligarh resident Salim Khan has a blood related disease. On Saturday he came for the show. Due to non-registration on the spot, he could not take doctor’s advice. Rajan Kumar of Faizabad has ENT related problem. Could not register on the spot. Harish Kumar, Anand Kumar of Bihar were not registered in the OPD of Cardiology Department on Saturday. The employees advised them to register online. They didn’t get the date in the cyber cafe. They were forced to return without treatment.
