On March 25, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will complete six years in office. With this he will become the longest serving Chief Minister in UP. According to a spokesperson of the state government, as soon as the first year of Yogi’s second term is completed, he will have a record of holding the post of Chief Minister for 6 consecutive years and 6 days. This is the longest tenure so far for any chief minister in the state. On March 1 itself, he had achieved the record of being the Chief Minister for the longest time (five years 346 days).

Statewide celebrations

The first year of ‘Yogi 2.0’ in Uttar Pradesh will be celebrated with much pomp and gusto. The cekebrations by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the state government will start with a press conference in Lucknow, where CM Yogi, deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, party state president Bhupendra Singh Choudhary, state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh and other party functionaries will be present.

The Chief Minister will talk about the changes that have taken place in the state in the last six years. He will also talk about the investment friendly climate created in the state due to better law and order situation and employment opportunities.

BJP came to power for the second time by winning 255 seats.

Apart from this, press conferences will be held by the in-charge ministers in various districts of the state. Local MPs, MLAs, District Panchayat President and Legislative Council members will be present in these press conferences. In 2022, the BJP came to power in the state for the second time by winning 255 seats in the state assembly.

While asserting that Uttar Pradesh is the safest destination for investments, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanathhas been quoted saying that investment proposals worth Rs 33.5 lakh crore were received at the Global Investors Summit 2023. Unlike earlier when only a few regions around National Capital Region (NCR) got benefits, this year the investment proposals have been made for all 75 districts of the state. Investment proposals will lead to the creation of 93 lakh employment opportunities in the state.

The Yogi Adityanath government over the course of its second term took many big decisions while working on many fronts. The government took a big decision to remove loudspeakers from one lakh religious places.Action was also taken against madrassas running without registration. In the monsoon session, to reduce crime against women and to prevent damage to public property, the government had passed 2 bills. The first was theCode of Criminal Procedure (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Bill 2022 aiming to control crime against women. After this bill, the accused in serious crimes against women will no longer be able to get anticipatory bail.

The second bill passed in the House pertains to compensate for the loss of public property, and is named Uttar Pradesh Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Amendment Bill 2022.

No letting down guard

The Yogi government implemented the police commissionerate system in three new cities namely Prayagraj, Agra and Ghaziabad. Talking about the MSME policy brought in the MSME sector, through this it has been said to promote the One District One Product scheme,A plan was introduced to give 20 to 50 percent exemption in the manufacturing part in the electric vehicle policy. The Yogi Adityanath government did the ground breaking ceremony in the year 2022, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Projects worth crores of rupees were inaugurated and the foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in addition to promoting development around Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh on the lines of the National Capital Region.

A big decision was taken and a proposal was passed in the cabinet to make the state capital region, under this, cities like Lucknow, Unnao, Sitapur, Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, were included. Efforts were also made to improve the police department on the lines of the Central Bureau of Investigation. The UP Special Police Establishment Act was also prepared. The work of setting up a unit of STF in Ayodhya was also done. The state government also gave green signal to start metro rail service in cities like Kashi, Meerut, Bareilly, Jhansi and Prayagraj. Construction of 2 new field units of UP ATS, Bahraich, Shravasti further the campaign to strengthen security. A plan has been made to give 20 to 50 percent discount in the manufacturing part in the electric vehicle policy, so that the manufacturing of electric vehicles can be promoted in Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, success can be achieved in reducing the use of diesel and petrol vehicles, keeping this in mind, the government has worked to bring an electric vehicle policy.
