Over 1500 youth delegates from India and abroad participate in Y20 Consultation at IIT Kanpur

Kanpur: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur resonated with the enthusiasm of hundreds of youth who gathered for the Youth 20 consultation. This consultation, organized under the G20 Presidency of India, was hosted at IIT Kanpur. Kanpur Divisional Commissioner Dr. Raj Shekhar inaugurated the program and addressed the delegates and participants as the chief guest. More than 1500 youth delegates from India and abroad participated in the Y20 Consultation at IIT Kanpur.

Speaking at the event, Kanpur Divisional Commissioner Dr. Raj Shekhar said that events like Y20 Consultation are ground breaking as it paves a self-reliant and sustainable way for India to enable export of manpower services and technology. It also helps in improving the talent of the youth who form 65% of the country’s population. He said that institutes like IIT Kanpur are important for the development of the nation as it provides an enabling environment.

Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director, IIT Kanpur said, “India has now entered the next 25 years of the ‘Amrit Kaal’ and it is very appropriate time that we take over the Presidency of the G20. During the last six decades, IITs ) Kanpur has been at the forefront, driving technology and innovation in every sector. We have a strong research and innovation ecosystem, which has incubated a large number of start-ups and is shaping the future of the technology-driven world. The discussions on “Future of Health”, “Technologies for Sustainable Future” and “Innovation in Future of Work” take a broad view of the future and I hope that the ideas shared by the young delegates here will have a far-reaching impact globally Will put.” Prof. Karandikar said.

Interactive discussions during Y20 Consultation at IIT Kanpur focused on Technologies for Sustainable Future, Industry 4.0, and Technologies that will impact Future of Work, Future of Education as well as Future of Health .

The esteemed panel consisting of experts and entrepreneurs highlighted India’s journey in key domains of innovation and technology and how we can collectively make an impact globally.

As the host of the event, IIT Kanpur organized a grand exhibition with over 50 stalls, showcasing diverse technologies and innovations that can make an impact at the grassroots level as well. The exhibition showcased a plethora of low-cost devices, innovations and technologies. A cultural evening with Hindustani and Carnatic classical music concluded the Y20 Consultation at IIT Kanpur.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur was established on 2 November 1959 by an Act of Parliament. The institute has a sprawling campus spread over 1055 acres, with a large pool of academic and research resources spread over 19 departments, 22 centres, 3 interdisciplinary programs in engineering, science, design, humanities and management disciplines, 540 full-time faculty members and about 9000 students. are students. In addition to formal undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the institute remains active in research and development in areas of importance to both industry and government.
