Overloading in school vehicles to attract strong action says JCP L& O Piyush Mordia
Lucknow: Now, if there is overloading in school vehicles or other standards are ignored, strict action will be taken by the police. In this regard, Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Law and Order Piyush Mordia has issued a written order to all school managements including DCPs, ADCPs, ACPs and station in-charges of all zones.
Piyush Mordiya said that it is mostly seen that norms are violated while transporting school children in vehicles like van, jeep, auto rickshaw, e-rickshaw, tempo etc.
Children are made to sit crammed in excess of the seat capacity. Sometimes children are made to sit by putting extra benches. Due to which untoward incidents happen and children become victims of accidents.
All school managers and parents should ensure that the vehicles by which the children are going to school meet all the standards. The driver should have at least five years of experience and should not have any criminal record.
JCP Mordia said that it is mandatory for the driver of the school vehicle to have at least five years of driving experience. Also, there should not be any criminal record against him. It is mandatory to have horizontal grill, fire extinguishing equipment, first aid box etc. in the vehicle. The driver should not be addicted to drugs.
If the driver disobeys then complain to UP-112
JCP said that in the context of the standards of school vehicles, meet with all the school managers, school vehicle drivers and parents and ensure them. On the other hand, if any school bus driver is ignoring the norms, then call UP-112 and complain to the police. will be processed.
