Oyo to double properties to cater to Chardham Yatra rush
Lucknow: Online hotel booking platform OYO has announced doubling of its properties for Char Dham Yatra-2023 in Uttarakhand.
The company said that during the Char Dham Yatra, a record demand of pilgrims is seen, in view of which it has taken this step.
The company currently has 40 hotels in Rishikesh, Haridwar, Srinagar (Uttarakhand), Kedarnath, Joshimath and Uttarkashi, which will be doubled to 80.
Uttarakhand Dham Yatra is a spiritual pilgrimage to four holy shrines located high in the Himalayas. These pilgrimage centers include Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Millions of pilgrims from all over the world come here every year.
According to the Uttarakhand government, 16 lakh pilgrims have already registered for this year’s yatra and the number is expected to increase in the coming months.
OYO has seen a growth of 206 per cent in bookings for Char Dham Yatra as compared to the same period last year.
Srinagar (Uttarakhand) continues to lead the bookings with a growth of 186 per cent YoY. It is followed by Rishikesh and Haridwar.
The company said that despite the challenging weather conditions, Indians still want to go on the Char Dham Yatra.
