Lucknow: Noted filmmaker and ex chairman of censor board, Pahlaj Nihalani has planned to shoot two films in Uttar Pradesh. Nihalani met UP CM Yogi Adityanath late Wdnesday evening with writer, Sanjay Masoom saying that no chief minister in the past had welcomed filmmakers with a red carpet in the state.
Nihalani’s next ‘Ayodhya ki Katha’ is based on Ayodhya and will be shot there. The filmmaker has also presented a poster of the film to Yogi Adityanath presenting him with a storyline. The film will have a glimpse of Ayodhya telling stories which remain untold.
Nihalani’s other film Anari is Back is going to be shot in Lucknow and adjoining areas from January 21. The film features Randeep Hooda and Mithun Chakraborty among others.
Expressing his happiness over the Film City plans, Nihalani has been quoted by agencies saying that, “With the creation of Film City in Uttar Pradesh, local artists will get opportunity and work. Also, tourism will get a boost. He said that Uttar Pradesh is a very favourable place for shooting because of its diversity and historical and cultural richness. ”
The writer Sanjay Masoom who is helming the project is known for his earlier writing in films like the web series ‘Ashram’.
