Lucknow: Continuing its efforts to protect women, Lucknow Police have decided that they will take constant steps to protect women. In a new initiative, panic buttons are being installed at all intersections of the capital. Reportedly any woman can press a button in times of trouble. Pressing this button will immediately help the woman in trouble. The panic buttons will be directly controlled from the police control room.
According to information, in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, women will be helped just by pressing a button, in fact, under the Save City project of Lucknow Police’s Smart City Scheme. In emergency situations, the woman will be able to press this panic button and ask for help from the policemen or the staff sitting in the control room.
The button initiates a response where the camera captures the photo of the victim. These photos connect and reach the police headquarters. This will activate the police as well as CCTV cameras installed at the intersections. Cops will be on alert.
It is learnt that the survey of the agency concerned to install the panic button is almost complete. Panic buttons will be installed on the pillars on major roads with pink toilet and pink booths present at the intersections of the city. Artificial intelligence cameras will be installed at all marked locations first. Among the areas that are covered under the facility are Indira Nagar, Gomti Nagar and Alambagh.
