Lucknow: In a century, the toughest time has been that of the lockdown and everyone has been hugely impacted by it. The pandemic in many ways taught us how best to be a good citizen. It also taught us the need to take care of one another.
At times when there is all pervading negativity, Pankaj Gupta, a local artist has come up with an arts exhibition cum sale of painting & home decor items that tries to bring positivity in the lives of people. An amalgamation of various artworks it brings the various shades of life which often escapes the naked eye.
In the month of Phag which symbolizes excitement and gaiety, the exhibition brought some really respected names all on one platform. The exhibition had a multilayered approach where one saw the craft of bonsai, painting, sculptures, sketches and objects that only add to the myriad colours of interior decorations.
Titled Sabrang, the event saw respected names of the fraternity come forward and take part with music and art taking centre stage. Sabrang is being held on 20th and 21st March at Chabutra Chats, Kraft Corridor led by Divya Bhardwaj Bhattacharya operational since a month. While the entry to this event is free, the organizers are ensuring that all COVID protocols are being followed.
The man behind this entire exhibition, Pankaj Gupta said that he has not got professional training and he is self taught. The idea behind such an exhibition was purely to ensure that there was greater man to man connect and ensure that people moved beyond the negativity that the pandemic brought with it. He said that ultimately it was about using art and creative expression to give people reason to smile.
Among the chief guests present at the inauguration of the event were Vandana Sehgal, Principal & Dean of Faculty of Architecture, AKTU and Sudhir Mishra, Editor, NBT Lucknow. Photographers Ravi Kapoor and Ajaish Jaiswal graced the occasion along with other respected guests like Diwakar Bhattacharya, Director General, CIMSME-UP, Professor Sabra Habib and Executive Council Member & Board of Director of Indo American Chamber of Commerce , Advisor to Arthur D Little, Mukesh Bahadur Singh.
All wished the organizers well.
