Meerut: Due to the high development fee of Meerut Development Authority, now the establishment of industries and new clusters have started moving outside the city limits. With the establishment of new industries and clusters on the land of District Panchayat and Village Panchayat, the stalled wheel of industrial development will now come back on track.
Wood Seasoning Cluster will now be established at Nanglamal on Garh Road. A fresh proposal was sent to the government. With this, other clusters are also moving towards the countryside. In MDA, entrepreneurs have to pay development fee to get the map passed, which is manifold. Due to this, the work of cluster establishment in the city area is stuck. After the extension of MDA, there are some areas where clusters will not be established. It was found by the SPV in the countryside area and started preparing the proposal afresh.
In passing the map from the district panchayat, development fee is deposited at the rate of Rs.250 per square meter, whereas in passing the map from MDA, development fee has to be deposited at the rate of Rs.1850 per square meter. In such a situation, the proposed cluster establishment and industrial development in the district is stalled.
Deputy Commissioner Industries, Dipendra Kumar said that after the land of a cluster is selected, a fresh proposal is being made and sending it to the government. Soon after meeting with the SPV of other clusters, after resolving the problems, a fresh proposal will be sent to the government and the work of establishment of the cluster will be done.
