Patient dies in ambulance, Deputy CM sets up inquiry
Answer demanded from the doctor and employee of Balrampur Hospital, will have to answer the notice in two days
Lucknow: The death of a patient in an ambulance will be investigated. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has taken the incident seriously. The Director of Balrampur Hospital has been instructed to investigate. At the time of the incident, the doctors and staff posted on duty have been summoned. Instructions have been given to complete the investigation in two days and submit the report.
Jairam, 60, a resident of Nigohan, was injured in the attack. The family took the patient to the PGI Apex Trauma Center on Rae Bareli Road. The doctors saw the patient. As part of first aid, a tube was inserted in the nose. The patient was advised to be taken to King George’s Medical University. The relatives had taken the patient in a private ambulance to the emergency of Balrampur Hospital. There are allegations that instead of admitting the patient, the doctor here asked for referral paper.
The relatives got entangled in the paperwork. For about half an hour the patient lay in the ambulance in the scorching heat. Despite oxygen support, the patient was having increasing difficulty in breathing. The relatives were going to the trauma center with the patient. The patient died on the way.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak says that the incident is very sensitive. The doctors and staff have shown gross negligence. The director of the hospital has been instructed to conduct an inquiry into the entire episode. Strict action will be taken if the negligence of the doctors and staff performing emergency duty is exposed in the investigation.
If the action is to be taken from the government level, then send its proposal. Negligence in the treatment of patients will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Those who tarnish the image of the government will be punished
The Deputy CM made it clear that the government is constantly taking steps for the betterment of health services. Doctors, employees and other officers who tarnish the image of the government will not be spared under any circumstances. Strict action will be taken.
