Lucknow: Under the series of Chauri Chaura Centenary Celebrations and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program, the Culture Department, Uttar Pradesh organized the online cultural program “Khoob Ladi Mardani” in view of Covid-19 on the sacrifice day of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi on June 18, 2021. It was launched online by Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism Department, Uttar Pradesh.
First of all, the singing of Bhajans ‘Bhajman Ramcharan Sukhdayi, Krishna-Krishna Bol Hari-Hari Bol and O Pawan Putra Hanuman Ram Ke Bhakta Nirale’ was presented by Aonkar Shankhadhar, which was appreciated by the audience associated with various virtual mediums. The second presentation was performed by Sharad Anuragi of Mahoba, “Rani Laxmibai ki Gaurav Gatha Mahoba ki Battle” in Bundeli Alha style. After this the performance of Alha singing “Badi Ladli Bajirao Ki” by Faujdar Singh of Jaunpur enthralled the audience. Ramrath Pandey Rae Bareli also paid homage to the contribution of Rani Laxmibai in the war of independence in the Awadhi style in the form of ‘Kashi in village Maholi where Vishwanath was born in the court of Laxmi Bai in the middle of U.P.’.
At the end of the program, the scene of the queen fighting valiantly with the British came alive with the singing of Veer Ras’ poem ‘Bundele Har Bolo Ke Muh Hum Suni Tha, Khub Ladi Mardaani Wah To Jhansi Wali Rani Thi’ written by Sumitra Rani Chauhan by Shri Omkar Shankhdhar Lucknow.
