Petrol, diesel prices pinch Aam Aadmi pocket for tenth day in a row

New Delhi: Continuing to burn a hole in the pocket of the common man is the steady rise in petrol and diesel prices for the tenth consecutive day. On Thursday, price of fuel was increased by 30-35 paise. The cost of one liter petrol in Delhi has reached Rs 89.88 and diesel is at Rs 80.27 per liter.

In financial capital Mumbai, the price of petrol has increased to Rs 96.32 per liter and price of diesel to Rs 87.32 per liter. Reportedly, the price of petrol has reached its highest ever in many cities. The steep hike is visible with some places selling petrol at Rs 100 per liter.

The price of petrol and diesel changes at 6 am daily. The new rates are applicable from 6 o’clock in the morning. The price changes with excise duty, dealer commission and other things added. Petrol and diesel prices change every day, depending on what the prices of crude are.

The retail price of petrol diesel in India is linked to the price of crude oil in the global market. If the price of crude oil is low globally, then petrol diesel will be cheaper in India.
