Plans afoot to have 8 new bus stands in the Outer Ring Road of Lucknow city
Lucknow: Traffic congestion is a burning issue in the city of Lucknow. There are constant efforts underway to ensure that traffic control is smooth sailing and traffic snarls are done away with. In a major effort work is on give relief to the people from the traffic jams caused by roadways buses in the city.
According to the master plan, the search for land has started for the construction of eight new bus stands outside the city. The Transport Corporation has sent a letter to the LDA, asking to secure the land. Now in this case, the Transport Corporation will survey the land on the outskirts of the city and submit the report to the LDA.
Speaking to newsmen, the Regional Manager informed that under the City Development Plan, the construction of a bus stand on the Outer Ring Road is proposed in future. In this regard, the availability of land has been discussed in the LDA board meeting. In which the land will be searched keeping in mind the convenience of the passengers and the movement of buses.
According to the master plan of the Transport Corporation, there is a plan to build eight bus stands on the Outer Ring Road between the eight districts adjoining Lucknow.
Under which Lucknow to Sitapur, Mohan, Kanpur, Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Ayodhya, Kursi Road and Sultanpur Road are included.
50 percent buses will operate from Charbagh and Kaiserbagh bus stand. These buses will run short distance buses for the areas adjacent to Lucknow. For example, 28 seater buses will run between the cities of Sitapur, Fatehpur, Morawan, Barabanki, Kanpur, Rae Bareli etc. from both the bus stands.
