Platform tickets made costlier under Northern Railway to check festive rush

Lucknow: In view of the crowd gathered on many festivals including Deepawali, the Railways is now going to adopt a new formula. Keeping in view the upcoming festivals, Northern Railway Lucknow Division has organized important stations of the division Lucknow, Varanasi Junction (Cantt), Barabanki Jn, Ayodhya Cantt, Ayodhya, Akbarpur, Shahganj, Jaunpur Jn, Sultanpur Jn, Rae Bareli, from 26 October to 6 November. Platform ticket at Janghai, Bhadohi, Pratapgarh and Unnao has been increased to Rs 50. Its purpose is only that passengers arrive at the station and platforms. According to the Divisional Railway Manager, Lucknow, the price of platform tickets on the division is being reduced under passenger convenience.
