Playing it with a straight bat
India is a country full of talented people, we just need people who can recognise such talent & bring to forefront. Dr Chandan Verma is one such person who recognised the talent in this boy from a small town who was exceptionally talented n played world class cricket. His dream was big and to attain his goal from the very small age he disciplined himself.
The boy is Ritesh Rai, born on 8 October 2006
In Ballia,Uttar Pradeshto Santosh kumar Rai and Savita Rai. He has an elder brother Utkarsh Rai. His talent was recognised at very small age , when he was a seven year kid. It seemed cricket flowed in his blood as he would request his father to play cricket with him. He received his early schooling from sports college & Avadh Public School, Lucknow.
His interest in cricket continued to grow with each passing year so his father got him enrolled in Aryavart cricket Acedemy when was 12 years old. He was trained in the academy under Arpit Pandey and Sonu Pandey and also represented the Academy in many matches.
Gradually he developed into a very talented player and won matches single handedly.
He also has expertise in spin bowling and now and is now recognised as a batting all rounder. Due to his consistent performances, he was honoured by Sports Authority in Dr. Akhilesh Das stadium by Rajiv Shukla and Chetan Chauhan.
Then he went to Chandigarh for a short period of time and played for Champions Cricket Academy under coach Ravi Verma. At this point of time he was doing very well but needed a helping hand and it was provided by his sponsors globalsport.com
At present he is based in Lucknow and is playing for Life Care Cricket club as a batting all rounder under coach Narayan Bahadur.
He presented his teams in various tournaments and archived commendable heights.
His recent achievements are as follows- best batsman in Siraj Hussain memorial Tournament, Best batsman in SK ÌAS developer Tournament, Best batsman in Adarsh Bhartiya Vidhyalaya T20 Tournament, Best batsman in Late Sushil Mishra all India Tournament Jalandhar, 8/14 in PP Dua Memorial under 16 Cricket Tournament.
His latest achievement was six sixes in an over in Chandigarh League Match.
He is improving himself and has a long inning to play as he is exceptionally hard working.
