Lucknow: At the Gomti Book Festival, programs like Story Telling, Classical Dance and Creative Writing on the theme “Literacy Heritage of Lucknow” were organized for children at Children’s Amphitheater. Story telling session took place. Dr. Jayshree Sethi made children travel the world of stories by telling fictional stories to the children.
The book “Nritya Katha” was launched by author Jaya Mehta and book designer Swati Chakraborty. They narrated the story to the children through postures. Cultural programs were also held in which Adiba, Laiba and Himali performed very beautiful dance performances.
More than five hundred school children participated and enjoyed a lot in these programs specially organized for children.
In the Author’s Corner organized at Gomti Book Festival, Lucknow, the topic “Lucknow from my point of view: past, present and future” was discussed. Chander Prakash, Advisor, Gomti Book Festival, Lucknow, author and columnist Ravi Bhatt, Lucknow University Professor Shri Nadeem Hasnain, AKTU Professor Dr. Vandana Sehgal and Master Chef of India’s Vijaya and author, Chef Pankaj Bhadauria were present.
Appreciating the culture of Lucknow, Ravi Bhatt ji said in his speech that “Wherever we go, in the city of you and I, we the people of Lucknow go to digest separately”. All the panelists present on the stage talked about the culture, manners, language, food habits of Lucknow and told how the city of Lucknow makes itself different and beautiful from other cities.
The next session in the same series was on the topic of providing a platform for start ups. In this session the General Manager, Dayal Industries, Mr. S. K Mishra, Information Technology and Management expert Ranjit Kumar, Director Royal Jelly Dr. Nitin Kumar Singh, Chief Officer of NABARD, Uttar Pradesh Regional Office , presently World Bank advisor, Gaurav Srivastava, S.P. Singh, presently Director of Food and Agriculture, Amethi University, Dr. Shalini Visen were present.
There was enthusiasm among the youth to display their skills in front of the people in Kalagrit organized in the festival. Today there was a conversation session with Madalsha Mani Tripathi in Kalagrit (Shastra Seema Bal) Pipe Band performance. In the open mic, exciting performances were done by the youth through poems, songs.
Children, youth and all book lovers who came to the festival had an undying love for the book.
