PM Modi is the second great hero of cleanliness: AK Sharma

Lucknow: State’s Urban Development and Energy Minister  AK Sharma said on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 02 that Mahatma Gandhi ji was a great hero and mass leader of two centuries. He was the biggest advocate of cleanliness and a great source of inspiration. He laid great emphasis on cleanliness and gave the message of self-cleaning. This cleanliness message of Bapu ji has to be taken forward and the state has to be made clean. He said that similarly Gandhiji’s Satyagraha also inspires everyone to speak right, do the right thing and realize the concept of ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’. He gave the methodology to the society to speak well, do good, listen well. He said that Bapuji considered cleanliness as the first priority. Let us all take a pledge today that we will work to take forward the mission of cleanliness.

Urban Development Minister  AK Sharma participated as the chief guest in the program organized by the Swachh Bharat Mission, Urban and Urban Development Department at 1090 intersection today. On this occasion, he said that the second great hero of cleanliness is Hon’ble Prime Minister  Narendra Modi, whose birthday from September 17 to October 2, the birthday of Bapu, was celebrated as Seva Pakhwada in the state under the cleanliness program. Modi ji’s cleanliness program has had an impact not only in the country but in the whole world. He said that the symbol of clean India was also the glasses of Gandhi ji, which Modi ji has chosen as the symbol of cleanliness. He said that today is a very important day for cleanliness. Lucknow has received the award for Best City for Innovation and Waste Practices in the Government of India’s Cleanliness Survey-2022. Along with this, other urban bodies have also been rewarded. For this, all the cleaning personnel, civic officers and employees are eligible for congratulations.

He said that in order to maintain the cleanliness drive, all the bodies have been given the formula of Panchamrit, which will be continued in future also. The first resolution in this is to thoroughly clean all the cities and towns. The second resolution is to remove the heap of garbage and make it useful by cleaning and planting trees there. The third resolution is to renovate the old parks and gardens and clean the dirty places to make Amrit Park. The fourth resolution is to beautify the intersections. The fifth resolution is to organize the water bodies of the city and make them public utility. With all these resolutions, we will continue this as a special campaign even after October 02 as a cleanliness campaign. He said that today all of us should take a pledge that we will neither do dirt nor allow others to do dirt.
Minister Shri AK Sharma honored the team of 275 bikers involved in the Swachhta Jan Sampark Yatra with a trophy and a citation to each. During this, he also presented a citation to 30 children who became the model of the cleanliness planet of the Father of the Nation, Bapu ji and 10 girls who became the model of Kasturba Gandhi. Along with this, the cleaning personnel of Lucknow Municipal Corporation were also honored with a citation. He welcomed, greeted and greeted everyone on this occasion. He called upon all the youth to maintain their passion, inspiration and enthusiasm towards cleanliness in the same way, so that in the coming years the state can be brought number one in the matter of cleanliness across the country. He garlanded the statues of Mahatma Gandhi ji and Lal Bahadur Shastri ji along with the Chief Minister this morning and also went to the Gandhi Ashram.

Director Urban Bodies,  Neha Sharma said that on the instructions of the Government of India and the State Government, on 2nd October, the birth anniversary of Gandhi ji and birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri ji, Swachh Bharat Mission is being celebrated as a clean festival in all the urban bodies. The Indian Cleanliness League program was organized in the state from September 17 to October 02 as part of Seva Pakhwada. On October 01, the Government of India has also honored the best performing bodies on cleanliness. He said that in order to make people aware about cleanliness, the Swachhta Jan Sampark Yatra has reached Lucknow today from 29 September to 02 October by 15 teams of 275 bikers from all the districts of the state carrying the Swachhta flag carrying a cleanliness flag.

Special Secretary Urban Development  Sunil Kumar Choudhary said at the conclusion of the program that every effort would be made to make the state clean under the Swachh Bharat Mission and the directions of Hon’ble Urban Development Minister would be followed. On this occasion, Joint Director Swachh Bharat Mission Ribha Jain, Deputy Director Dr Sunil Kumar Yadav, Additional Director Aslam Ansari, along with dignitaries and youth were present.
