Poetic tribute paid to Rabindranath Tagore by Kailash Hostel students

Lucknow: On the occasion/on the eve of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary, the Kailash girls hostel of the University of Lucknow organized a poetry recitation competition on Monday evening. The event was successfully organized by the cultural committee of Kailash hall, under the guidance of Provost and Assistant provost of Kailash girls hostel Prof. Babita Jaiswal and Prof. Roli Verma, respectively.

Several girls participated with great enthusiasm in the poetry recitation competition and got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The competition inspired the young poets to come forward and recite on stage. The students came up with different poems written by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Students were judged on the parameters like confidence, voice modulation and overall presentation.

“It was a splendid opportunity for students to gain confidence through stage exposure. Everyone was delighted after seeing their pleasing performances,” said Prof. Babita Jaiswal, provost of the hostel. The judges appreciated and applauded.

The first position was acquired by Hashmita Arora of MA English and Divya Lata Maurya, BA third-year student, second by Shweta Tiwari, student of B.Com 3rd year and the third prize was shared by Sakshi Mishra and Astha Dixit, both are the students of BA 3rd yr.

The Kailash girls hostel of the University of Lucknow has always been proactive in organizing such events to promote the cultural development of students. Such competitions not only help students to showcase their talent but also provide them with a platform to enhance their skills and gain confidence.
