Police arsenal to get a boost

Lucknow: After upgrading UP 112 helpline, 1.30 lakh calls can be received. At the same time, there will be a reduction in call dropping. For this, the number of call takers is being increased from 673 to 825.

PRV will increase in the second phase

UP 112 issued a statement saying that the new service provider companies Bharat Electronics Limited and V-Win Limited are providing their services to UP-112 smoothly under the wage rates determined by the Labor Commissioner and other permissible/relevant acts and rules.

Along with this, information was given on Thursday about the upgradation to be done in the second phase of UP 112. During this, it was told that in the year 1017, the average response time of UP 112 was 25 minutes 42 seconds. It has reduced to 9 minutes 18 seconds in the year 2023. In the second phase, the number of vehicles will be increased to 6278 PRVs.

The PRV will have a vehicle tracking system, using which a real time message of the GPS link will be sent to the caller, through which the caller will be able to track the location of the PRV on his phone. UP-112 will be integrated with other helpline numbers like CM Helpline 1076, NHAI Helpline 103, Safe City, Smart City etc., providing citizens with a single number of contact for multiple services.

Body worn cameras have been proposed for all PRVs. Vehicle mounted cameras will be installed on vehicles for 688 PRVs in important and sensitive areas, this will help in collecting evidence and proper analysis of any incident.
